AI to print / AI2VINYL

Can you print an AI-generated vehicle wrap?

An AI mockup can show the direction of a wrap. It usually is not the file a shop can send straight to its printer.

A picture of a wrapped vehicle is not a flat wrap layout

The image often includes the vehicle, shadows, reflections and perspective. A printer needs artwork arranged for the actual vehicle surfaces. Stretching the whole mockup across a template also stretches the vehicle photograph and any distorted details.

Raster versus vector when you enlarge artwork

Raster artwork is made of pixels and can look blurry or blocky when enlarged. Vector artwork uses paths, so its shapes and lettering stay sharp at larger sizes. A PDF, AI or EPS file can still contain raster images. Changing the file extension does not turn pixels into vector paths.

Inspect the content before improving the resolution

Check the business name, phone number, logo and spelling against the original brand assets. AI can produce convincing-looking but incorrect lettering. A larger export will not correct wrong information, broken geometry or an inaccurate vehicle body.

Rebuild the parts that need precision

Lettering, logos and clean shapes can be redrawn as vectors. Photographs and complex textures may remain raster images if their quality is suitable at the intended output size. A mixed vector-and-raster file is often appropriate; the whole wrap does not have to be vector.

Confirm the printer’s requirements

The final layout needs the correct vehicle information, scale, trim allowances and output settings agreed with the producing shop. The shop must check fit and production requirements before printing. A visual proof is for approval; it is not automatically the released production file.
